The goal of this page is to enable you to type the Mmuock alphabet using the regular keys on your keyboard. That way, you can quickly produce “special” letters (š, σ, æ, etc.), tone markings (á, ǿ, ǣ, etc.), as well as glottal stops (ạ, ụ́, etc.) that you cannot find on your keyboard.

How it works

1. Enter the text into the white text area. The table below shows what you should type in order to obtain special letters and tone marks. As you type your text, it is also being translated into the unified (compact) form and displayed in the lower half.

   Note that ab, aB, aC, etc. will be translated only if they appear at the start of sentence, or follow a space or punctuation mark. Otherwise they are copied verbatim.
2. When you are done typing, copy the unified text and paste into any target application (facebook, chat, document, email, etc.). In some web browsers, you can easily copy the text by clicking on (or tapping) the button on the right of the green box. In some browsers, you'll have to select the text and copy, as is done on your device.

Why this?

A keyboard already exists for typing Mmuock on mobile devices. However, most people do not have the time to install it. Therefore, I have written this quick and dirty web app where you can use your regular keyboard and the text will be translated into into the Mmuock alphabet.
